THE TUSKEGEE SYPHILIS EXPERIMENT TOOK PLACE FROM 1932-1972 in macon county, Alabama to test for untreated syphilis in negro males. a group of african males were gathered and bribed into participating in the experiment because scientists believed that untreated syphilis manifested differently in african americans and whites. in the end, the study became known for the racism rather than untreated syphilis.
